Role: Supply chain developer at a mid-size manufacturer sourcing raw materials from 40+ suppliers.

The procurement team manages supplier relationships through email, tracks purchase orders in spreadsheets, and verifies incoming deliveries against paper packing slips. Lead time data is anecdotal, quality ratings are informal, and there is no way to quickly evaluate which suppliers are reliable. The company needs a digital supply chain management system.

Business Problem

Production stoppages due to late or low-quality deliveries cost the company significant revenue. Procurement decisions are based on relationships rather than data because supplier performance metrics are not tracked systematically. Purchase orders sent via email are difficult to reconcile against actual deliveries, and quality issues with received materials are not linked back to the supplier. This scenario builds a supply chain workflow that maintains supplier profiles with performance data, tracks purchase orders through fulfillment, and records delivery quality.

Four-Step Application
